  • Who can use the services provided by JCLC?

    • The classes are for adults who want to learn how to write, read and speak in English, learn how to use a computer or prepare for the citizenship test.

  • Who are the teachers at JCLC?

    • Jefferson County Literacy Council is a non-profit organization that has a combination of volunteer tutors and salaried instructors.

  • How much do the classes cost?

    • The classes are free. Students pay $35 for the first English book. If students cannot pay for the book, we have a library to borrow students the books.

  • If I do not speak English, can I join a class?

    • YES! If you do not speak English, we are here to help you learn. 

  • When are the classes?

    • We offer a variety of classes in Watertown, Fort Atkinson, Johnson Creek, Palmyra, Waterloo and Jefferson. We have flexible hours, call us for more information.
